Inspire Clone Build instructions
« on: July 07, 2015, 09:53:19 PM »

I will be doing full build instructions when I get time but for now below is a brief description.

I've tried to limit the number of screws required to hold the center body together by have 4 x M3 threaded bars running through. These also clamp the 14mm carbon tubes tight so they do not rotate. The smaller needle bearings then site on these. Attached is a photo of the center built up.

More to come..

Eltrocha.. lol, I'm trying but I always run out of time each day. I think I've finished the main unit now as the battery was really the last thing I wanted to add. I've already designed the frame to hold a small gimbal controller so the next thing was to add that really. I'll make a start on the lego type instructions tomorrow :-)

Would a printable pdf be better do you think for people to follow?  I would really like to do a build video but I haven't got enough spare parts to build another at the moment.

I think any type of instructions wether it is a pdf or a video is fine. Some people might find it more useful to watch a video others won't. I would not mind either but because im a newbie (i know about electronics and stuff) and don't really know exactly how to build it, instructions would be highly appreciated.

Hi Manny,  would you mind doing a bit of a build diary as you go? I think people would be very interested and I would be able to assist if I see something along the way. :-).

Hello, I am new on the forum and I started  to print the parts of the clone Inspires.
I need your assistance for the system of moving the arms, which servo, which mechanism, which connections?
 Could you give me indications?
Thank you from France

Hi, have a look in the parts required list thread. In there it lists the 360deg towerpro servo, the DC-DC mini board that will output 7.2 volts to the servo, micro switches, lead screw etc.  You will also need an arduino and the code I wrote programming on it. I will help as much as I can with all this.

Thanks,

Steve

Thank you and congratulation for your splendid work.
I had begun the project of RcHobbysUK http://www.rchobbysuk.co.uk/store/p127/DJI_Inspired_%283D_Printable_Quad%29_STL_FILES.html
and tried to adapt  DJI parts.
I saw the list of equipment for the movement of the arms, which I will wish is a diagram of the assembly of the parts of this system.
Thank you for your assistance
Regards  Jacques

I'm a bit busy tonight but hopefully the attached photos will help you. The threaded bar you see has now changed to the lead screw and nut but you will get the idea

In the last picture what is the box on top that has a cable? I also do not understand how does the leg movement mechanism works.

Thanks

That is the 360 degree servo to lift arms. It will rotate the threaded shaft which will lift the arm mechanism to raise and lower arms.
