Mount the motor Tarot 4006 KV620
« on: July 20, 2019, 08:32:42 AM »

Hello friends!
There are 4 Tarot 4006 KV620 engines that I want to install on this assembly. The problem is that these motors are larger and are not installed on the original mount. Need to change the model. Please share the finished model for 3d printing, if someone already has a finished one or a models for editing, the best option for "Autodesk Inventor", but others can be. Thank!

I've done my fair share of modifying STLs due to issues with prints or breaking things up. I don't have the step files of the originals, but I would take a look at Fusion360 . . . its free to educational/non profit/maker/inventors. The tool is very similar to inventor (i've used both) so getting into it should be an easy thing.

In Fusion, open a new design and go to import mesh.
Turn off Capture Design History
right click on the mesh and goto mesh to brep
You should be able to do direct model functions on the mesh.
                Sketch, extrude, cut, filet, etc.
You can even turn design history back on

Keep in mind this only works if you keep facets down to about 10K anything more and the system starts to choke. Since a lot of the designs are prismatic you shouldn't have an issue.
