Mavic Clone - flight controller?
« on: January 21, 2017, 08:27:58 AM »
So.. I've designed this up for a 36mm x 36mm FC which I think is standard these days but not sure which one to go with.

The functions I would like are GPS / Sonar / LED.. for now. If it had built in OSD and even an android app.. then that would be even better. Can anyone suggest anything? Again, price really is key as I've not got much to spend.

Thanks,

Steve

Android App sounds pretty cool.  Ardupilot with mission planner are very stable and pilot friendly too.

I would love to try a pixracer but funds couldn't push to that sadly.. so I've gone for a Naze32 with GPS and iNav firmware for now...  Speaking of funds, Many many thanks for your donation Carlos.. It's very much appreciated and I've gone and purchased a dr4-II RX for my mavic with it :-) So it's been well spent..

Again, your support has helped loads :-)

Hello Steven, thanks to you.  Could you please provide a link or a pic of the Naze with GPS?.   I've seen in eBay two or three versions of that controller and I'm not familiar with it.  Does it comes flashed with the iNAV software?
By the way, what is a dr4-II RX?
Also, I started printing  with 0.2mm 90% infill

Hi Carlos,

The dr4 is a receiver, quite small.  The GPS and naze32 I got from two different places.. photos below. The GPS is the only thing I'm mounting in the front and I've tried to keep metal away from it.

I've printed all mine with 30% infill @ 0.3mm. I've changed a lot of the design so you might want to wait a few days .. well at least until my naze32 full comes tomorrow.

Well, I'll wait. I had printed only the smaller parts: the catch, feet rear and nose, and was about to start printing the Top back and Top front, when I read your last message, so I'll stop here until you suggest something else.

By other hand, what receiver would you recommend me to use since my Transmitter is a Spektrum DX7s; I think your receiver doesn't match with it.
Also , I was thinking to print 90% infill and 0.2mm only those parts that I thought  had the most struggle like the feet rear and the catch, and also those that need to look super nice like the Top back and Top front, aesthetics, you know. What do you think?

Bugger.. Scrap the Naze32 Full.. Inav doesn't support sonar OR led on it.. so that was a waste of money.  I'm trying out Pro SP Racing F3 Flight Controller Deluxe 10DOF ..  So don't buy a naza.. lol

I've moved some bits about so there is some room now for a receiver up front. :-)  I use a Frsky dr-4 so that's different but Ive seen some really small spectrum rx's.. you want one that does PPM so you only connect 3 wires from the RX to the Flight controller.. + / 1 / Signal .. and that's it :-)
