hey gang,

since the black widow motor is nowhere to be found, is there an alternative?

It would be nice if there was a consolidated parts list that we could share and see what everyone used on their project.

thanks in advance

Great work, CdRsKuLL! Donation sent

It would be great to have a base option for a px4flow sensor instead of sonar. I can provide measurements if you're interested. It almost fits through existing sonar holes but they will need moving closer together.

@Esoxgab which one do you have exactly? There are different versions with 8bit, 40bit, 61bit...

But I actually think they are all the same regarding wiring... One end is Input and the other End output. On Input Side you have to connect +12V, GND and one Data Wire which goes to your FC.

EDIT: Could be also 5V instead of 12V depending on the LED Strip.

EDITEDIT: If you use the one recommended by CdRsKuLL it is 5V so you have to connect the side which is labelled with IN as following:

GND - GND from PDB
VCC - +5V from PDB
IN - Data Wire from your Flight Controller

Definetly you can put one and there are various versions of gimbals and cameras. Just check out the other Build diaries and Threads regarding Gimbals.

Hi@All,

Im wondering if somebody flies his Mavic (Maybe a Scaled one) with a Multistar 4000mah 3S battery?
I would like to know the dimensions and weight to compare it with my 3000mah battery to see if it could fit in my non-scaled Mavic.

iRazoR,
The MultiStar High Capacity 3000mAh 3S 10C Multi-Rotor Lipo Pack is 107mm x 34mm x 28mm. The MultiStar High Capacity 4000mAh 3S 10C Multi-Rotor Lipo Pack is 112mm x 34mm x 30mm.  Looking at my 115% Mavic drawings I believe it will fit.  I have been thinking about this myself, I may order one just to see.  Right now all of my batteries are the 3000mah version.  I can always us it in my Spyda 500 if it won't fit in the Mavic.

Thank you very much for the dimensions. From this it really could fit. To bad that I just ordered another 3000mah Battery today  ;D
But if you try it I would definetly like to know the result because I fear that the Gimbal will drain the battery badly when everything is installed...

Re: Mavic Clone Balance point
« Reply #207 on: December 08, 2017, 02:14:15 PM »
I am trying to sort out some problems with my Mavic clone, it is scaled up 115% from the original.  My problem is it seems to be grossly nose heavy.  When I attempt to lift off the back comes up first and in fact it seems that is it going to tip over,  I can pull back on the pitch and get it to lift off however it is not happy.  I drew have determined the actual center of balance is about 10mm in front of the center of the wheel base.  There is currently nothing mounted in the nose.  removing the battery does not change the actual balance point.

The flight control is an APM 2.8, ESC is a hobbywing 4-in-1, battery is 3000mah, motors are 2212 980kvm.  I am just looking at all aspects of my initial flight problems.  So far I have broken three arms and the base.

I have determined through measurements in Fusion 360 against the fully assembled drawing the wheel base is 350mm making my wheel base 402.5mm.  I will need about 3 ounces of weight at the rear of the base to bring it into static balance.  That brings up two problems, what to use and where to place the weight. The center of the wheel base is located 55.4mm from the back edge of the top front part where the battery cover meets it.

I have a few questions regarding the build.
Here are the components I am planning on purchasing.

SP Racing F3 Deluxe Flight Controller 10DOF Cleanflight Integrated OSD
FrSky Taranis Q X7 16 Channel Transmitter
2212 920kV Brushless Motors
Mavic 8330F Propellers
iFlight iPeaka 35A 4 in 1 DSHOT 600 BLHELI_S ESC w/Built-in 5V and 12V
FrSky D4R-II
Super Mini Size NZ GPS for NAZE32
VTX03 Super Mini FPV Transmitter
3S 11.1V 3000mAh Lipo Battery

Will these components work together?
What type of gimbal/gimbal controller and camera can I connect to the system?
What can I use to view the video feed from the FPV Transmitter?
Is there something I am missing, or do i have all the necessary electronic components?

Hi TomanSager

your components look good so far and they should work together.
To watch the Video Feed you have multiple options. For example I use an simple Android FPV Receiver to watch the feed for the moment but you can also use the classic goggles.
Regarding the Frsky RX I would think about a 10 Channel Receiver from the beginning if you plan
To use a Gimbal but that is just my personal opinion.

Regarding the Gimbal there are different Solutions available. You should have a look on the other Build Diaries. They are very helpful.
