I'm buying a Mavic Air..
« on: June 26, 2018, 07:35:08 AM »
Got to say I'm really looking forward to picking a Mavic Air up in a few hours :-) I've been watching a few videos and I'm impressed.

So, after looking on Thingiverse and I couldn't see an Air clone. Do you want me to start doing one?

Steve

It would be interesting for sure.  But how will we get the electronics small enough?  Squeezing a Naza along with all the assorted other parts and wires is hard enough in the regular Mavic clone that I have scaled it up to 120%.  I wouldnt think that a Mavic Air clone would work with anything larger than one of the all in one control boards used in racing quads.  So no altitude hold or the other features that the Air has in its original form.

Yeah, I know what you mean.  And after holding it now it is a bit smaller.. BUT it might still be possible to stick a Naza in, just with a smaller battery. (maybe)

I've not looked at the F4 FCs for a bit, maybe one of those comes with gps etc..

Need to have a bit of a think what the best way would be to print this thing...

What do you think about the Mavic Air so far after flying... I think it makes really good video shots but the main reason I didn't get one was the small wifi Range.

Steve,

Pretty cool aren't they? I would recommend getting a sticker kit as the props on mine started to rub the top where they fold in.

Dave.

Is your Mavic Air still alive, CdRsKuLL? I'm considering getting it as well, especially if it's durable and not prone to dying. haha
