First of all many many thanks to creator of all those .stl files, CdRsKuLL  :) (dude, u've put some serious effort into it!)
then to others that contributed with their parts (E800 motor/esc housing, bigger battery holder - Nobby , legs - huy507 ,  arm locks, Nylon bushings - rcfiddy1, and maybe some more that perhaps I unintentionally left out )

video:

gimbal

------------------------------------------------------

so, mine is it pretty much done, all parts printed, tubes cut, fitted, screwed in,
arm mechanism installed, limit switches also, motors, ESC, NAZA...

now before making big holes in CF arms for passing all ESC+signal wires,
I had to find CG. with gimbal ofcourse, as later CG alterations are not possible like on other drones,
because battery cannot be moved at all, and body can't be shifted forw/backwards on side arms because of hole for wires(u can't drill whole side of CF tube out ;) )

now I will rip it appart and maybe take some pictures of building it step by step if I manage to find time for it,
the original DJI canopy really makes it look ways better than other printed clones(which use printed shells)

I have opted for Naza Lite , flashed to Naza V2
with G2 M8N GPS, uses glonass and better magnetometer, so should otperform original NAZA one...
E800 DJI setup identical to Inspire 1 - http://www.dji.com/product/e800
6S 5200 mAh LiPo Multistar
5.8G FPV set
3 axis FeyuTech gimbal

had few test flight to see if it all works, before putting it into this clone build :)

clone frame weights around 1500 grams, and test wooden frame(video above) weights about 550 grams,
so it would be like flying wooden one with 2 batteries, but one is disconnected :( less flighttime but for the looks, I can live with that :)

Tommy, congrats on your build. I recently bought a Naza M lite with GPS and was wondering if you know if the newer one's can be upgraded? I read somewhere that when the device check for a new version of software it would shut the unit down. Please correct me if I'm wrong...

Thanks

Thanks.

And no, I also have newest one (with led separate from bec) and it flashed same as older(with led on bec).
The warning is there only not to update it via dji GUI when setting it up. Because then it will freeze.
But no harm done. Reset it to lite again and flash to v2 again.

But it works same as v2 without a slightest problem.
Dont worry it will fall from air :)

P.s. for others: do not buy naza with DJI gps. Buy lite alone and M8N G2 gps on ebay or elsewhere.
Works better than original dji! And still is plug&play. No modding needed

Tommy, Awesome build!!  I just ordered some parts and started printer my Clone yesterday.  I was wondering what transmitter and Receiver you are using?  Also where did you mount the FPV camera, in the nose perhaps?  and one more last question, what OSD are you using? it has a lot of great information on the screen.

thanks,
Andy

I am just starting this journey but hopefully within a few months it will be in the air.

Thnx CdRsKuLL, rcfiddy1 & ajmorris,

2 ajmorris, about the radio,

I am using Hitec Aurora 9 with Minima PPM RX,
but only because I had it already. for planes and other models in my hangar...

If I was starting from scratch with this, maybe some other would be better,
because on multirotors you don't have a real need for 125 mixes and programming options, touchscreen and so...
turnigy 9X or similar are OK.
because all tuning is done via flight controller GUI on PC,
tx sticks don't even need trim buttons! (like DJI phantom/inspire has done on their TX's, removed them ;) )

FPV link is pretty much usual stuff, 5.8Ghz 200-600mW
buy a LCD monitor 7-8'' or FPV goggles
video transmitter/receiver
camera (gopro or some other HD, or for starters low cost <20$ pure FPV cam)

and go from there... later when u get a grip with it u add gimbal and start filming around
(while u still can, regualtions are spreading around fast :( )

feel free to ask if something needs clarification, if you have any doubts about needed hardware

Tommy,
Did you have to reprint the motor mounts to fit the ESCs under the motor since you used the Inspire Propulsion setup?

Hi Tommy

Have you found must excess play in the arm structure. When I place my "inspire" onto a table it settles a little, it seems that there is some play around the worm screw/brass nut.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated
