Thanks, The filament is old Radioshack stuff when they went out of biz (US store)
It actually glows in the dark as well! Very cool!
I am finished printing and it went together liker butter.. I'll spend more time cutting screws to length(OCD) because i'm too lazy to measure and order!
Its put together 100% with SS screws and brass inserts.. Even for the legs as they seem quite strong!
I have the sonar ordered and am still deciding on the flight control and motors but I am looking at these..

Still need to run everything thru ecalc and make a decision...
So far its been a fun build! I am thinking about just throwing in some stuff to get it in the air while I wait, to see how it handles in the air.
Thanks again for all your hard work! (donation inbound!)

Loving the colour :-)  Many thanks for your donation, I'm saving up for a new transmitter but I'm not getting far as keep seeing things I want.. opps. I've added you the title of 'Elite DIY RC Supporter' now.. Arise Sir Tesadorn :-)

Oh, just noticed on your build the battery base is the wrong way round, the returns at the side should point up not down.  Any electronics yet?

I really like the color, I'd have a hard time seeing it in the air though lol.
Where did you get the brass inserts?

This PLA glows... So I will add lights inside to fly at dusk....
I bought the insert on amazon for a few bucks.

The motion portion is based of this design..http://www.openbuilds.com/builds/voxel-ox-extendable-3d-printer-and-cnc-platform.2418/
The rest, (hotend, bed, electronics etc) I changed to my liking..
So far its the best printer I have made... (I have made 40-50 in my time/I sold them one year as a hobby).
I attribute most of that to the motion as the rail is very precise....
Rods and bearings are not bad but I find over time they lose accuracy due to wear.. Maintenance can solve but was always a pain.
One more secret.. Titan extruder and E3d hotend... If you don't use them you need to!
With this one I don't need to tweek, twang, play with ever... just make sure the bed is clear and print....

wow that's awesome. I got the prusa i3 mk2 as my first printer, but was looking to build one from scratch as a second one. What is the tablet interface? Does that hook up to octoprint or something? Thanks for the share!

Its a pi3 with the touchscreen running repetier server... It really work well!
Why would you want to make another I heard the mk2 printed very well? Are you having problems with it?

Oh no, don't get me wrong. Nothing wrong with it at all. I dialed it in and all I have to do is hit print and it's good to go! I just want a second one in order to print all of the things in the world :) .. or in this case .. more drones.

Never heard of repetier though. I am gonna have to try it. All i've been using is octoprint
