#triafgg: I've remixed it for you. Check if the size is ok before printing. Unfortunately you will need print it with supports.
It is not beautiful but has plenty of space inside ;-).

My Big Fat Mavic
- some pictures of my custom version to fit big Li-ion battery.
- doesn't look so great anymore .... but I can live with that
- will try to optimize it later

Cheers Baaz, just printing off now. Hopefully can use either for large battery or to hold the Gimbal controller and vtx for FPV.

Lol. I've have a big problem to squize everything at the bottom of the frame. Soft mount for flight controller (you should use it to get good altitute hold) takes precious millimeters. Will try without it but expect problems. So far managed to fit flight controller within 15-17 mm range from bottom. Then 2 mm is for battery tray. And battery is 40mm fat plus 4mm for cables.

Ground Control Station (Tower app) for android phone with UVC video widget. The cool thing is that you can download maps before flight and using it without internet. When I find way to connect both 3DR modem and UVC FPV video receiver then it is possible to show fpv video stream in a small widget window.

Hi, as per this article, the simplest way will be OTG Hub.
The said article: https://github.com/DroidPlanner/Tower/wiki/Uvc-video-stream

But if you prefer less wire tangling around, then you can add bluetooth module to 3DR Radio and connect Tower to 3DR Radio via bluetooth.
Video guide:

Hope these help. Cheers...

Nice job, dude! It's funny, but in this color with browny-orange battery it looks like a turtle, lol.

Call him Michelangelo

For Michelangelo you would need to add some orange, maybe the LED holders(my 7 yr old told me that :-[).

Another attempt to fit the battery. Less bulky now and additional 7mm above middle part. Printing and hope it will be ok. No more froggy look ;)

Thanks. Managed with otg hub. Later will put everything inside 3d printed case and attach it on the back of the phone.

Finally succeded to fit my li-ion monster battery inside. Redesing top a little and it gives extra 7mm space inside and doesn't look so bulky like my first remix (goodbye frog / turtle).
The final Mavic is 7mm longer (arms too), 7mm wider and 5 mm higher (deeper bottom part). Still missing 1-2 mm space inside cause now it is very tight fit and battery can accidentaly touch the flight controller which is bad for vibration.
Printing the final design in PETG cause I'm really disappointed with ABS. It delaminates so easily and the strength is not so much as expected. PETG is a little more heavy but parts are rock solid. Tested it on arms with 70% infill and they were almost indestructible (already crashed two times on my prototype). It is easier to print too after some effort with finding optimal settings.

Hi Baaz

Printed off your remixed top and it fits fine, thanks. Should be able to fit the gimbal controller in there and maybe the rtx as well.

to #triafgg: I have a slimmer version now too but less space inside (7mm clearance)

Finally finished and first flights. Still problems with tuning and not very stable video from gimbal camera. Compass calibration is pain in the ass because of magnetic noise from gimbal.

It is a custom build with slightly bigger body (about 1cm longer, wider and higher). Many parts were redesigned and arms made stronger. Folding mechanism works good cause used thick springs and metal balls instead of suggested plungers. Drone is rather heavy ... 950g in total.

There is a lot packed inside though:
- pixhawk lite flight controller
- smart rgb led for pixhawk
- radio receiver
- telemetry radio 3DR 433MHz
- video vtx 5.8GHz
- video pagoda antenna
- gimbal + controller
- runcam 3 camera (it is controlled by remote cable and tilt off gimbal controlled by radio too)
- mavic folding props with custom 3d printed adapter
- black widow 2208 1200kv motors

Drone is connected to smartphone app (tower / qround control) via ground 433Mhz module. Video signal too by usb uvc 5.8 receiver. So I get both telemetry and video data on smartphone.

Now just tuning and tuning to improve flight characteristics and decrease video shaking.

Some hints:
- print the top cover lock from TPU and it will be flexible and easy to lock/unlock
- print custom propeller hubs and put blades from original / clone mavic propellers (very stable)
- to save some space remove pins wherever possible and solder wires directly
