thanks man. Last question, what dimensions are your gimbal dampeners?. In your gimbal controller design the holes for the gimbal dampeners are 5.5mm. The ones i ordered are 9mm if i'm not mistaken.

This thread is making me want to try this quad again. I say again for the reason I wanted to a while ago but I put that thought on the back burner till recently. Now to just gather $$$ for parts lol

iRazor, sorry for asking again but can you provide the dimensions for the flycat gimbal motors(including the 2805 if you have it)? I'm dtrying to design my own 3 axis gimbal using those motors. Thanks.

According to aliexpress the 2204 are 27.85 * 13.1 mm and the 2805 are 34.5 * 14 mm but i'm not sure about the hole placement. I think the 2204 motor has it's mounting holes on a 12mm diameter, judging from your gimbal design, instead of a 19mm diameter that the 2805 motor has. If you can confirm that i will be happy.

I dont own a 2805 so I cannot answer that question but yes, the holes for the 2204 are 12mm in distance.

I have one lying right here. The 2805 has a 19mm bolt circle on the backside and the 12mm bolt circle on the front side.
I doubt that I'll ever use it.

Hey iRazoR,

I really like your build of your 2-axial gimbal and finally I chose to do it nearly the same. Now as I'm configurating the controller I get a few issues. Maybe you can help me.

My parts: 2x flycat 2204 260kv motors and a hmbgc v2.2 gimbal controller with the 8bit v.2.2 software.

1) Is there any need/possibility to update the firmware on the controller? My information is that v2.2 is the newest possible version for this controller.
2) While I was calibrating the gimbal I saw that all the cables together are very stiff and the motors need so much power to move the gimbal to around 45 on the roll axis. The value for power in the software is already at 150 and the motor gets very hot. Could you tell me what values for power and maybe PID you use just to check them?
If I move the gimbal to fast or into a too high angle it always bounces back tries to stabilize and bounces back and so on...
3) If I move the drone like flying around the gimbal seems to lose his orientation and keeps staying in any angle. Could it be a wrong calibration or is this caused by the board (the main board, not the small one for the camera orientation) not being fixed in position at this point of my building.

I hope you can help me with your experience on this ;)
Thanks!
