This is the latest picture with ABS arms and APC props.

She's done a few flights now and holding up well.

Going to do some longer range and speed test flights at the weekend. Also going to add LEDs.

Sorry, wrong information. The props are 8x4.5.

Naza build hovering. Not as stable as a Mavic but OK.

Excuse the poor video, filming and flying not so easy.

Not a speed machine compared to the Mavic, need to experiment more with motor/prop combinations.

Tried filming the clone with my Mavic.

Went OK to start with and then the real Mavic started going crazy, I guess interference being so close. Next time I will get a helper to fly the Mavic from the opposite side so to minimise interference. I was panicking a bit, no control over the Mavic and it was getting closer to the clone so I was thinking do I switch off the clone transmitter and let it crash or do I fight to get control of the Mavic. I didn't want to lose the clone after spending so much time on it but the Mavic was 1,000, big dilemma. I stuck with Mavic and managed to bring it down safely, the clone just sat there as if nothing had happened. Big relief to get them both down safely, so don't try this at home kids :-[ :-[ :-[

It was actually OK until I tried ActiveTrack and it might be because of not enough contrast between a green drone and the grass, should have thought of that really. I was going to fly the drone around with the Mavic following it, which would have been cool.

Anyway, here's the clip, it ends just as I got control and landed the Mavic.

LOL, ya been there, not with a MAVIC but just flying in general and start to lose site/control of which way something is flying and the hands start shaking and you just have to take a breath and relax to catch your bearings haha.  But ya Mavic would have def come first.  Gratz on the recovery.

Phew.. close one but all ended well.  I know that feeling very well. My first flight with my real mavic over my house. Must of got interference from all the WiFi routers round here.. next minute the controller said disconnected, I was like wtf, phone screen went all black. The mavic shot up in the air and I thought it was off.. but it then moved over me and started to come down. RTH saved the day :-). It's an awful feeling..  :-)

Well it was cut the grass or do a makeover on the Mavic today. The grass was tempting, for about a millisecond, so I reprinted the parts. I didn't like the green(too much like grass) so I went with a black and white theme.

Put 1200kv motors on as well, and cut down the infill a lot as well to make it lighter, saved 50 grammes so will see if they give more flight time than the 1000kv.

The only trouble printing so thin is if I crash it the whole thing will need reprinting. I think it's sturdy enough for general flying.
