Mavic build - mitchellbrink81
« on: February 06, 2017, 09:59:09 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm almost finished with printing! Last part to be printed tommorow. Everything fits great! It's just an amazing design! Below some pics of how far I am. Printed everything at .2 layer height and 30% infill.

Here are my specs for the build:

APM 2.5 with GPS and osd (want to add telemetry later)
920 kv dji style motors from dys
Turnigy i6
600mw video transmitter

I'm gonna design my own gimbal for my Denver ac-5030w action cam

Tommorow I'll be starting with the electronics.

Best regards,

Mitchell

Very nice.. Any reason you went with version 1?  If you are staying with that version you might need to reprint the arms and legs depending what motors you use. The ones I picked had the 16mm and 19mm holes reversed (version 2+). I also increased the hole down the arm by a bit and put an extra slot in underneath to help get the wires through.

I did think about just using the screw from the top to hold the middle to the base. Let me know how you get on as it would mean I could remove the 4 or even 6 holes from the bottom and have hidden fixings.

Looking good.. keep updating, I hope no one flys before I do.. lol ;-p

Hi steve,

all my parts are actually version 2+ except my base. I'll be printing version 2+.
I had printed version 1 by accident so ill drill a hole for acces to the usb port, ones its flying correct ill put everything in base 2+.
at least this is my thought.

@12382 I'm still thinking hard in how to get it to fit. it'll be a 2 axis gimbal and i was thinking of printing a bracket to the nose for the roll motor.

best regards,

Mitchell
