Mavic Pro Clone F3 - "Rocinante"
« on: January 10, 2018, 11:20:17 PM »
Hello

Long time lurker, first time poster.

My original build >>>https://www.thingiverse.com/make:411520

My new build

I've used the updated parts to make a new drone, after my first ... flew, but wasn't controllable haha

The majority of the 3D parts have been modified for the components I've have. This build was influenced by iRazoR build, and the spektrum parts I've had around. I've learned alot from this project, trial and error, reading countless posts/threads and watching countless tutorial. Curse you CDSkull haha

Using the Flashforge Finder, 205c, 30% infill on body with 70% infill on legs.

Parts List

  • Spektrum Naze32 Rev6 Aero
  • Spektrum Diversity Receiver
  • Hobbywing 4n1 Xrotor 20a
  • Overlander X2204 Multi-Rotor Motors 2300KV
  • WS2812B 2*2 4-Bit Full Color 5050 RGB LED
  • Much wiring, 2.5 bullet connectors, RGB leds, solder, filament, nuts & bolts

Yet to fly it, need to measure up and print the mid plate, possibly redesign the top cover for more battery room and program the flight controller.

Using Cleanflight. Programmed the LED's to give me Armed/Disarmed warnings and battery warnings.

Once I've got this reliable, want to build a new one with GPS/Gimbel etc ... just been finding it difficult finding a flight controller. Haven't had any luck with SP F3 10DOF that i've ordered.

Mid plate/battery cover printed and fitted, and all covers on.

Will be flying with a 1000mah battery, but I've have room for a 2200mah battery, and possibility a 2900mah battery with minor changes in design.

Looking forward to finally getting it flying

Need to calm down and smooth of the control responses, it's a tad sensitive.

Getting a slight yaw to the right, not sure if that a frame issue, or a deadspot issue on the transmitter.

Going well :D
