F4 v2 build 4.1 with camera
« on: November 01, 2018, 05:26:59 PM »
I am unable to get over some scumbag (berniapple) taking my prop adaptor design and posting it elsewhere on the internet for free download claiming it as his own design.
I made the files for this forum's members only and he had no permission to share it across the net and certainly not allowed to claim it as his own work.
To that end I can't be a part of the same site as him nor do I have any interest in this project anymore.
No offence meant to anyone else but it's hardly a proper clone it just looks simular and the more you get into the building of it the more you realise it needs a total redesign and could have been done much better. Its weak in the important areas and over sized in others, I personally got romanced by the automounous features of a real mavic pro 2 i had a play with and thought it would be more fun building one than going out and buying one but i soon came to realise, using this as a base model,  I was very wrong. This is just a heavy, almost, lookalike and the electronics would be better used in a lightweight frame with much better performance. Without the proprietary dji stuff (which wont fit this copy) it will never even remotely behave like a mavic.

I bought a genuine mavic pro 2 after the fallout on this forum and to be honest, after a week of flying it I stuck it in the workshop with the hundreds of other models I have and not touched it since.
Sorry to screw the forum up but if I'm not supporting my build or the site anymore there seems to be little point in keeping my posts here so I've deleted them all (I think I must have had the most posts on site, there were a couple of thousand at least, it took forever).

Berniapple is a thief, the stealing of other people's work then claiming it to be their own is not only a scummy thing to do it's also copyright violation. Thingiverse agreed with me and removed his account and he too also admitted himself and removed the link from this site, society seems to breed these assholes that think it's ok to steal if no one objects but as soon as someone does it's all apologies and they play dumb.

See ya guys, good luck, im done.

You're right, I never really noticed it before. I guess the best solution would be to put some holes in the rear legs to enable them to sit flush.

So ive finally sorted out some space to build mine, I've got to remodel the base to fit the electronics I've got but other than reduced battery height I've no real concerns at the moment.
The mounting points for the 4in1 board need moving a couple of mm to fit the board and the ultra sonic module holes need moving to suit.

Nice!!

nice Kananga. I just got my parts. Unfortunately the props can't be mount onto the motors... Do you see anywhere which wire is which one on the motors?
need to widen the holes for the motors a bit. otherwise the screws won't fit.

the sonar however, fits perfectly and the 4-in-1 ESC olso perfectly on top of the flight controller. will try to start mounting some in the next days / weeks.

Wires don't matter on the motors, the escs will sort it out, the motors are tight on the arms but i thought they looked like they would fit I'm printing a new base as i type so tonight I'm hoping to start putting it together (again lol) so I'll be trying to mount the motors tonight.
I haven't checked the props but I assumed the holes were wrong as everyone alters them. I'll check them out later as well. There are various files for adaptors but I need to check out what were looking at.

I'mfitting the motors now, and they fit well on the arm. Just need to widen the screw head holes on the arms so the screws can fit.

and watch out for de names of the motors: CW and CCW are the screw head threads, not the direction of the motors!

I've had a look and theres not much on thingiverse. There is a design on there done in a simular way to how I would do it but I think it can be refined for the racerstar motors.

I'm going to draw somthing up and see how it prints.

In fact we would need the opposite adapter of these in the picture, or the prop in the picture...

Or adapt these adaptors to fit the threaded 6mm shaft...

It would be great to use the quick release versions but personally I don't want the props that far away from the motors, I'm assuming there will be folding issues if they are too far away from the motor ends.

I'm not sure I follow your first post, my motors came with prop nuts so I don't need those and I've already got the props as you know so I'm not sure about your suggestion of needing more.

I'm going for somthing like this but for our 6mm shafts http://diyrc.co.uk/3rd-party-parts-12/mavic-prop-adapters-for-5mm-motor-axis/msg5212/#msg5212 I'm going to sink it down on to the shaft with flats so the props are lower.

Well, the holes of the props are too small to fit the 6mm shaft. So one can't put them on with the provided nuts...

No, you're misunderstanding me. Leave it with me, I'm going to draw and print an example this afternoon.

Ok, no prob. Not urgent. But quite curious 😉

First version isn't quite right, I need to tweak the hole sizes but more importantly I didn't allow for the nut, lol noob error.
The solution is to drop the bottom part to the base of the can.
I will alter it later and reprint. I believe this is will be the solution I'm going to use. It seems strong enough and uses the original pins..

nice. In meanwhile I indeed found a similar one. wanted to tell you, but you are quicker ;-)

V2 of the prop adaptors printed and I'm quite happy with the design, I need to tweak the hole sizes again otherwise I'm happy.

Nice! Interested in the stl-files  ;)
