Electronics / Simple in-line voltmeter

I find these useful for monitoring batteries when charging, soldering, hot gluing etc in the field.

They are simply a cheap 2.5-30v LCD Digital Voltmeter that you can get from China or ebay, with a male and female XT60.

Use a pair of pliers to rotate the pins on one of the XT60 connectors so that they lock together, then solder, making sure to match the polarity.

Cut the tabs off on the meter, then cut the wire to length so that you have enough to tuck in neatly, and soldered to the correct terminals.

At this point, if you have a meter with a calibration pot, plug a lipo in, then use a multimeter to correct any discrepency.

Then use clear heatshrink to finish. I covered the terminals in hot glue, with a small dab to hold the meter down as an extra measure, but the heatshrink on it's own works well.
