Hi Steve,
Thanks. I've sent you an email with the files.

Hi Steve,

I finally managed to find the right touch screen drivers, so the screen seems to be working now. The graphic demo works, as does TFT paint. However, I have attempted to implement these new drivers in your programme code, but seem to run into an error somewhere.

This is probably because I don't know exactly where the driver code should be inserted into the code you provided me with.
I'm attaching my driver libraries. Could you take a look to see whether you can compile these with your code to see where things go wrong?
Thanks in advance for you (much needed :-) help.

Thanks a lot Steve. I'm going to give it a try immediately.
I'll let you know how it works out.
Just one further question: did you use an arduino Nano or Uno?
Cheers,
Folkert

very nice build :-) Wow.. you're building another, very nice..

I'm currently adding a gimbal to mine, should have all the parts done soon but final tweaking at the moment. I've also added a cartridge touchscreen resetter to my printer now :-) Makes it really easy to adjust the material and temps.

Tnx Steve.
Great job on the cartridge resetter looks awesome.
Are you willing to share te arduino code with me and the stl file for the housing?.
Thanks
Folkert

Looks great....what flight controller, motors, esc , prop size did you use? Arm transition looks real smooth.

Motors                 Emax  3510 600kv
ESC                     ZTW Spider 30A opto SimonK flashed
Props                  Gemfan 1347
Fightcontroller     DJI Naza V1 Flashed to V2 and gps

Two things :

One: when you say that you bypassed the arduino what do you mean? You did not use it for anything?

Two: those two wires in the leds does one of them come from the ESC signal cable?

Yes i skipped the arduino entirely, decided to go for the simple approach.
The two wires from the leds go directly to the positive and negative on the esc`s

Video not working but congrats.

Sorry about that, the video is now linked for viewing on youtube.

Well I've finally had all the parts arrive, and have finished my build!
I have chosen huy507's approach to the retracts, bypassing the arduino, which works very well for me, and saves me all the hassle of figuring out the arduino. A challenge that I shall reserve for a later date  8)

I have opted to connect the led's directly to the ESC's, after mounting them, and a 470 ohm resistor, on a board to ensure solid placement within the arms.
Check out the attached picture.

So today I took the newly finished model out for a test flight in the back garden. The flight looks a bit shaky due to the windy weather and the fact that the model still requires some fine tuning and balancing of props. But with this in mind, I'm very happy with the results.

Check out the video

Steve, thanks once again for sharing this model with us! I am already planning the next build, which will be black and red. And of course, I will post my diary updates on this forum  ;D

You need to drill the holes  through the pipes, nut will be on the other side of the arms.
Use m3 by 40mm.

O.. I've also been busy with a little cartridge mod. Just waiting on a pp3 battery holder and a momentary push button..   Guess where it's all going to go :-) The code for it seems to work, still need to do a tiny bit more work on that but it works as it is.

Hi Steve,

I have bought the same touch screen LCD. Could you send me the arduino code that you used? I'd like to be able to alter the temperature of the heated bed, as its a little high and causes the bottom layer of the aftermarket ABS I'm using to sag slightly  ::)
Thanks!

Well I'm stuck on my build waiting for some parts to come in through the mail. Its taking so long I'm having real trouble restraining myself from attacking the mailman :-)

Meanwhile I'm keeping myself occupied printing a new set of parts in black ABS for the next build.

Steve, could you give me a hand with attached schematic for the switches connecting to the arduino? I would really appreciate if you could mark for me how the arduino attaches to the switches (to prevent me from short circuiting like I've already done once  ;D and having to wait even longer for a new arduino part to come in ).

Thanks!
Cheers, Folkert

What's that extra little print you have done in one of the photos in front of the battery?

Hi Steve
Thanks for your help on the legs, I will do the same.

As for the extra print, this is a mount for a power distribution board that I found on Thingiverse .
I'll be trying to mount it on the back plate using spacers, to prevent the arm joint from hitting it ;-)

Hi Folkert

Can I just say awesome printing. Would you care too share the printer, settings you used? Did you use ABS or PLA

Regards

Thanks mate. I'm printing with a Da Vinci 1.1 plus, with ABS original XYZ printing cartridge. Settings are 30% density, 0.2 layer thickness. Nozzle temp and heatbed temp are the standard settings of the printer.

Finally the bearings arrived, allowing me to advance a little in the building process.

Check out the below pics.

Just a question for Steve:

In the above picture I'm unsure about the position of the blue part (leg housing) Should it be dead centre on the carbon rod? Thanks in advance for your help!

Cheers, Folkert
